Oster Electric Wine Bottle Opener – $15.99

This is a great gift for a mom who is a wine enthusiast, but it’s also perfect for the mom who frequently entertains. This electronic wine opener is a super fast and easy way to uncork her favorite bottle of wine. Whether she prefers white or red (or both), it can open up to thirty bottles per charge without any effort on her part. Once it is charged, it can be operated wirelessly, so it’s really convenient. Complete with a foil cutter, this opener is available in red or black.

I definitely prefer this to a traditional opener because it is simple to operate. It would be great for opening wine at events because it would allow you to uncork several bottles in a shorter amount of time than doing them all by hand. Slim and sleek, this wine opener is really attractive. I think it would look good anywhere your mom chose to put it.

Love is Love, Mug (Set of 2) – $25.95

If your mom is a coffee or tea lover, a mug is always a welcomed gift. Plus, it helps when the mugs are really sweet like this porcelain pair. I simply love collecting mugs; it’s  probably turning into a legitimate problem. How can I resist though? Cheerful mugs are a great way to start (or end) the day, so why not have a variety of them? This set of two feature a cute multi-colored heart design with the phrase “Love Is Love” repeated along the inside rim. They are microwavable and dishwasher safe, which is always a plus.

These are an especially lovely gift to give because 50% of the proceeds are donated to The Human Rights Campaign, which strives to end discrimination against members of the LGBTQ community. What better way to show love and appreciation for your mom than to help someone else spread the message of compassion and acceptance? You could stuff these with something cute or make up little coupons that grant your mom one-on-one time with you over her favorite mug of tea, coffee or cocoa.

Spring Starter Kit – $30

This starter kit is a must-have if your mother is an avid tea drinker. I own each of the products featured (with some slight variations in color) and I’m a huge fan of them all. The Perfectea Maker comes in the cutest green color and holds 16 oz of freshly brewed tea. I love this because it brews loose leaf teas perfectly every time and deposits it right into my mug without any stems or leaves.

The tea tin is a huge lifesaver as well. Complete with a fun design, this canister is airtight. It’s perfect for keeping tea (or even coffee) fresh and delicious over a prolonged amount of time. The Belgian rock sugar is an absolute favorite of mine. Made of beet sugar, this sweetener is really tasty. It has a delicate flavor that’s never too sweet. Just throw it into the Perfectea Maker with water and tea to brew the perfectly sweetened tea of your mom’s dreams.

See’s Candy

Springtime Truffles – $7.50

If you are looking for a pretty, edible gift for your confection adoring mother, these See’s truffles are going to end your search. These things are so cute! Coated with white chocolate and filled with raspberry and lemon, these pastel beauties are a sweetly feminine twist on the classic truffle.

I actually really enjoy the pairing of raspberry and lemon together. The zesty flavor of lemon goes so well with the fresh flavor of raspberry. And to pair them with the smooth, delicate sweetness of white chocolate? Brilliance, I tell you. Utter brilliance. They come neatly packed in a little pink box, so all it needs is a bow and/or some ribbon and you are good to go in the gift wrapping department.

1.8 Liter Electric Ceramic Tea Kettle – $34.99

Let me tell you: I got this for Christmas the year before last (in a different color and slightly smaller size) and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever gotten as a gift. I have used it nearly every single day since getting it, sometimes several times daily. If your mom’s kitchen is lacking an electric kettle, this is something she won’t regret receiving and you won’t regret gifting.

Perfect for making tea, coffee, oatmeal and just about any instant food or beverage, this electric kettle is the quickest and easiest way to heat up and pour water. It comes in a variety of colors and patterns, adding liveliness to the kitchen counter. Complete with an auto shutoff feature, your mom will never have to worry about scorching the water.

Garrett Popcorn

Spring Tin of Garrett Mix Popcorn (Gallon-Size) – $33

Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks. Whether it’s plain, buttery or dusted with white cheddar, if you’re offering it, I’ll gladly take it. Perhaps your mom is the same way. What better way to satiate a corn craving than get her a gallon of this unconventional, but tasty combo of flavored popcorn? One of Oprah’s favorite things, Garrett Popcorn’s Garrett mix is a popular Chicago-based treat. One part cheddar, one part caramel, this sweet and salty blend is highly addictive. I actually gave this as a birthday present once. Let’s just say it didn’t last long—at all.

Complete with your choice of the 1-gallon pink striped or spring themed tin, Garrett Popcorn will also include a complimentary Mother’s Day card (for a limited time). No need to run to the Hallmark store! If this mix is a little too unique for your mom, there’s no need to fret. Garrett’s carries a delightful range of other flavors along with varying tin sizes and designs (including a 12-pack of individual quart-sized tins). There is bound to be the perfect flavor and tin for your mom.

Italian Roast Brewing Kit – $58.95

There are coffee drinkers and then there are coffee drinkers. If your mom is serious about her cup of joe and likes it bold, this Italian Roast Brewing Kit will totally make her day. This set comes with a 1 lb bag of Starbucks’ Italian Roast coffee, a french press and a clear glass mug. French presses are a quick and easy way to brew the perfect full bodied coffee. Sweet and strong, this Italian Roast will provide a superb cup of coffee that will sweep your mom into daydreams of Parisian cafes.

Just keep in mind that french presses are intended for use with ground coffee (preferably medium grind). This set includes whole beans, so just make sure your mom has a means of grinding the coffee before purchasing this for her. I personally use a Ninja to grind my whole beans, so it’s okay if she doesn’t have a formal coffee grinder. Improvisation works too! 😉

Gold-Rimmed Ceramic 3-Piece Bakeware Set – $73.95

If I were a current bride-to-be, this would have totally made its way onto my registry. If I were a mom, I’d be thrilled to get this as a Mother’s Day gift. I’m in love with anything white/gold or cream/gold though, so perhaps I’m biased. Who am I kidding? This set is classically beautiful. Ideal for the mom who is the boss of baking, this 3 piece ceramic set is a visual delight. Complete with a 6-well muffin pan, square pan and loaf pan, the scalloped edges are lined with a bright gold trim.

Even baking and easy to clean, this bakeware has the edge on traditional metal or glass sets. Pretty enough to go straight from kitchen to table, these gorgeous pans will wow your mom and her dinner guests.

Parchment Cobalt 20 Piece Dinnerware Set – $99.99

Perhaps your mom is in desperate need of updated dishes. Or maybe she entertains a lot. If either is the case, you may want to check out the set I came across. When it comes to dinnerware, flatware and barware, Mikasa has some of the prettiest options out there. From minimalist and modern to flourished and traditional, they have just the right set to suit every taste.

This particular set is definitely on the more traditional side. Its elaborate scrolled design really caught my eye. I love the cobalt blue and gold against the crisp white. It’s pretty and formal, but hardly pretentious. Made of porcelain, this service for four comes with dinner plates, salad plates, saucers, soup bowls and teacups. They are microwave and dishwasher safe as well. I think this would be great to bust out for special occasions or holidays, but it would be equally nice for everyday use.

Crate and Barrel

Bar Tool Set (in Gold) – $79.95

Whether your mom is a master mixologist or simply a wishful wannabe, this 7-piece bar tool set would be a beautiful weapon to add to her cocktail crafting arsenal. Made of stainless steel, it includes all the tools she needs to mix the most marvelous mojitos (or any other libation that suits her fancy): an ice bucket, a jigger of two sizes, a spade-ended spoon, a spring coil strainer, a muddler and an ice scoop.

This set is available in four finishes (gold, copper, silver and graphite). Though the copper was my favorite of the four, it’s currently out of stock for Mother’s Day delivery. I think gold is an equally lovely choice though.

OXO Good Grips

30 Piece SNAP Leakproof Glass and Plastic Food Storage Set – $99.99

I have always been obsessed with food storage containers. I don’t know what it is, but I like it when my fridge is stacked with really nice, clear containers full of visually appealing fruits, salads and snacks. Not to mention, they are just too darn useful when you’ve cooked a large meal and it’s time to put the leftovers away. That’s why I love this set from OXO.

Providing a good mixture of sizes and shapes, these containers come in plastic and glass. Their snap on lids (of such a nice color) ensure an airtight, leakproof seal, ensuring air stays out and food stays in. This set is PVC and BPA free, as well as being suitable for use in the freezer, microwave and dishwasher. What? Glass that won’t shatter in the freezer? That’s pretty amazing. Despite them being pretty enough to display on the regular, storing the unused containers is easy. They neatly nest inside of themselves for clutter-free, space saving storage.

See’s Candy

Gift of Elegance – $96.85

This gorgeous display of chocolate is bound to be a treat to remember. For any chocolate loving mom, it features 4 lbs of some of the most tasty chocolate creations. See’s has been a huge favorite in my family since (what feels like) the beginning of time. I don’t know if there’s anything of theirs that I haven’t tried at least once, but if there is, I’m pretty sure it won’t remain that way for long. I’ve gifted this particular box to my parents in the past, so I know the rave reviews you’ll get by giving this out.

The variety provided is unreal. From nuts and caramel centers to truffles and fruity nougats, your mom will be in chocolate heaven for a good while (or just a few days if she’s a chocoholic). The presentation of the box is beautiful as well—no need to wrap it! It looks so pretty sitting on a coffee table.

Bed Bath and Beyond

AeroGarden Sprout LED with Gourmet Herb Seed Pod Kit – $99.99

For years I’ve been saying that I want to grow my own herb and veggie garden. I love cooking with the freshest ingredients I can find, so being able to source things straight from my own backyard would be awesome. The problem is that I have no idea how to garden. Plus, I live in a place that has a lot of rocky soil and sunless days—not exactly the best scenario for year-round crops. That’s why I absolutely love the idea of this indoor growing system. This grower allows you to successfully grow plants right in the kitchen without the need for direct sunlight or messy soil.

Thanks to the pre-seeded pods, you can grow a large variety of things 5 times faster than they’d grow in normal soil. They have seed pods for plants, flowers, veggies, salad greens and herbs (extras sold separately). This kit actually includes an herb seed starter kit, which is ideal if your mother loves fresh herbs like basil or oregano. These growers come in four colors: teal (my favorite), white, black and red, so you can surely find the perfect one to match your mom’s kitchen decor.

A2300 Blender – $399.99*

I think every kitchen gadget loving mom should have a really good blender in her kitchen. Whether you’re making smoothies or soups, having an effective blender can help you get the most nutrition out of your foods, save time prepping meals and get the perfect consistency of blends each and every time. When it comes to blenders, Vitamix is a definite industry leader.

This particular Vitamix model has variable speeds and features a timer that will help your mom master the precise timing of her favorite blends. It automatically detects the blending containers used, which is great for switching serving sizes in between mixes. Complete with a recipe book, your mom will have a blast discovering new and interesting ways to use a powerfully modern version of an old school appliance.

Artisan Design Series 5 Quart Tilt-Head Stand Mixer with Glass Bowl – $459.99

Whether your mom is a lover of pastas, ice cream, cookies or juices, a countertop mixer is every kitchen queen’s dream. The most iconic mixers I can think of are made by KitchenAid. No longer stuck in a black and white world, these powerful multi-taskers  come in a host of eye-catching colors and finishes. My personal pick for Mother’s Day is this gorgeous metallic mixer from the Artisan Design series (in Raspberry Ice). I totally fell in love when I saw this. The combination of the glass bowl and deep pink mixer is so feminine and beautiful. What mom wouldn’t love unwrapping this?

With ten speeds, this mixer can combat your toughest doughs—yes, even that super sticky brownie recipe known for breaking spoons and leaving arms fatigued. Complete with a dough hook, wire whip and flat beater, you mom will be able to put this baby to serious work right out of the box. However, the fun doesn’t stop there. KitchenAid carries so many optional attachments. They have food grinders, shredders, ravioli makers, grain mills, citrus juicers and ice cream makers. With this mixer on her counter, your mom’s culinary capabilities will be right on point.

Choosing the perfect gifts for this guide was such a challenge. I found so many amazing things that I know your moms (and mine) would go completely gaga over, but they were either snatched up already or too hard to rush in time for the big day. They were too awesome to keep to myself though, so I just may have to include them in a future article.

As a side note, gift cards to your mom’s favorite restaurant are always a good last minute gift to get. Also, Groupon runs a lot of affordable deals on meals at eateries in your local neighborhood. They are a great way to learn about new local restaurants. But if you’re still looking for a little more inspiration, check out my gift guide for fashionistas.

May this Mother’s Day be super magical for you and your mom (or special loved one). ‘Til next time, golden girls!
